This week, Booking Through Thursday asks … What books do you like to read when it’s snowy and white? What books do you read to evoke a real feeling of winter (good or bad)?
I’m not a huge fan of winter (I hate cold weather and there’s less of a chance of getting a snow day when you have a real job), so I prefer to read books that are comforting and familiar. It just so happens that I’m rereading Harry Potter right now and it’s the perfect cure for the cold weather and potential snow. I also love reading about winter at Hogwarts. It seems so pretty and peaceful and the thought of sitting by the fire with a hot butterbeer at the Three Brooksticks in Hogsmeade warms me right up!

There is just something very special about being up late at night, while reading and watching the snow coming down.
The Harry Potter books are great winter reads. I know winter isn’t a huge section in any of the books but I do tend to associate the books with winter-y weather. Maybe its because the movies make Hogarts in winter look so awesome.
Yes! I think that’s exactly it! Everything seems so perfect and cozy in the winter at Hogwarts.
